Trim empty space around a signature without clipping it
Remove excess paper while keeping the full handwritten signature visible.
Check where the ink ends
A signature can have dots, loops or a long final stroke outside its main body. Inspect those edges before cropping. Automatic white-space trimming depends on the image background; shadows and paper texture can affect the boundary it finds.
Use a controlled workflow
Load the signature in Photo & signature. Enable Trim white space around a signature and process a preview. If the source includes unrelated marks, crop those away first. Set the required output dimensions and select Fit inside to avoid cutting the remaining signature to a different shape.
When trimming looks wrong
If the result keeps too much background, return to the original and crop the obvious empty surroundings manually. If it clips a faint stroke, disable trimming and use a slightly wider manual crop. Do not compensate for missing ink with high sharpening.
Final review
Check the full outline, not just the file-size number. A well-sized attachment with an incomplete signature may still be unsuitable. Keep the original photo so you can revise the crop without repeated recompression.
