How to prepare a photo under 50 KB

Set a 50 KB ceiling while keeping the photo dimensions your application requires.

Open Image size & dimensions

Start with both requirements

A file-size limit and a pixel-size requirement describe different things. Before processing, write down the accepted format, width, height and maximum size from the application instructions. A smaller file can still be rejected if its dimensions are wrong.

Settings to use

Choose your original image, select JPEG if the portal accepts it, and enter 50 in Maximum size with KB selected. Enter the required width and height separately. Leave Minimum size empty unless the portal gives a lower limit. Process the photo and compare the actual bytes and preview.

If the target is missed

FormFile adjusts compression while preserving the dimensions you requested. Very detailed pictures may not fit. Crop unnecessary surroundings first, or reduce dimensions only when the portal permits that. Do not keep recompressing yesterday's compressed copy; return to the original.

Final check

A result comfortably below 50 KB is acceptable for a maximum-only rule. Zoom in to check eyes, facial edges and background. The size check confirms your entered limit, not acceptance by the application portal.
