Choose PDF margins and page orientation for document photos

Match the sheet to the content
A landscape certificate placed on a portrait sheet may look small because it must fit across a narrow width. Selecting landscape can use the page area more effectively. Tall documents usually fit a portrait sheet better.
Use margins with a purpose
Margins separate content from the page edge, especially for printing. Excessively large margins shrink the image. In Images to PDF, choose a sheet and margin, process a copy, and inspect the result rather than assuming the defaults suit every document.
Preserve all required information
Do not remove a border if it contains a seal, reference number or issuing detail. If the source photo includes a large table surface around the paper, crop that source before creating the PDF. This improves the useful page area without cutting document content.
Review page by page
Check orientation and scale on every page, particularly when source images have different proportions. The final PDF's byte size is a separate requirement and should be checked after layout is settled.
