Why a long PDF may not fit a very small target
Choose a realistic next step when many pages compete for a small byte budget.
Every page needs data
A single simple page and a twenty-page scanned document cannot always be compressed to the same useful size. Photographs, seals and dense text need enough data to remain readable. FormFile reports when its compression passes do not meet your chosen ceiling.
Check what is actually required
Read the application instructions for the required pages. If only a particular certificate page is requested, extract that page rather than uploading an entire unrelated bundle. Do not omit required pages merely to reduce size.
Improve the source
Dark shadows, large surrounding surfaces and camera noise can make scans harder to compress effectively. Clear, straight source images with sensible framing are a better starting point. Keep small printed numbers legible in every result.
Respect device limits
This version supports target-size rasterization for up to 40 pages. Longer files need an appropriate alternate workflow or permitted split batches. Do not treat a download button as proof the target was met; check the status and actual bytes.
