How to enter PDF page ranges and custom selections

Use commas and ranges to choose exactly which pages appear in the output.

Basic selection patterns

Enter 1 for the first page, 1-3 for the first three pages, or 1,3,5 for three non-adjacent pages. A mixed selection such as 3,1-2 places page three before the first two pages in tools that preserve your selected order.

Use file positions

The selector counts from the beginning of the PDF. A cover sheet is page one even if the document prints no number on it. A page labelled “1” inside the document might actually be the second or third PDF page.

Check boundaries

Use whole page numbers that exist in the file. Zero, negative numbers and ranges beyond the page count are invalid. Review the selected output rather than assuming an invalid entry will be silently corrected.

Choose the right tool

Split & extract creates a PDF selection, Organize PDF pages changes order or rotation, and PDF to images renders selected pages as images. The same selection can lead to different file types, so confirm the output you need before processing.
